Individual Therapy
Each of us writes our own story. At times, we need an outside reader to help us reflect on our past, recognize ourselves in the present, and aid in clarifying our intentions and desires for the future.
We are passionate about assisting individuals as they work through life’s obstacles in a way that is both inclusive and empowering. We welcome individuals from a range of backgrounds and experiences and provide supportive, collaborative and non-judgmental psychotherapy. We feel that witnessing a person as they share and explore their story is a privilege.
We have particular expertise in supporting folks in the following areas:
Life Transitions and Decisions
Relationships
Reproductive Health (such as infertility and pregnancy loss)
LGBTQ Family Building
Solo Mothers (SMC) or Fathers by Choice
Child free living
Pregnancy, Postpartum and Parenting
Couples Therapy
While couples often initially bond due to their similarities, the process of understanding and appreciating differences is equally important. We all come into relationships with our individual histories and scars, as well as our unique hopes and desires for a shared future with our partner. One of the greatest challenges of relationships is maintaining one's individual needs and interests while staying connected as a couple. In short, maintaining a healthy partnership requires a life-long balancing act.
Couples therapy provides a safe space to have much-needed vulnerable and intimate conversations. By exploring each person's role in the overall couple's dynamic, we will help bring new insight into your behavioral patterns and offer suggestions for opportunities for change. Benefits of this work include improved communication and conflict management, deeper feelings of connection, and greater awareness about both partner and oneself. While many couples do not seek counseling until the relationship is in danger of ending, we believe that counseling can be useful for all couples, in any season of their relationship.
During the fertility journey, couples therapy can be especially useful to collaboratively process strong emotions, aid in decision-making, and help couples bond through grief and loss.
